Prehistoric

Chapter 1
I remembered hearing distant talking and being in a bright room. I saw all these kinds of machines, and felt my body aching, and then . . . it turned black.
I woke up, and I saw a bright light in front of me. I realized it was the sun, so I opened my eyes. I felt exhausted.
"My body hurts so much," I thought.
I started trying to get up, but collapsed onto the ground.
"Let me try one more time," I thought again.
Something that was under me was causing pain. I lifted my back up to find gears of all sizes and shapes. I started to get up, but still struggled with standing. Once I was on my feet, I started to look around and saw that I was in the middle of a forest. I also saw a wet grassland of trees that were covered in moss.
I still felt the pain but I could barely feel it. I started walking really slow because I didn't know how I got here, but I was scared. I felt helpless, and could feel the tears filling up my eyes.
"You are lost," said a voice in my ear.
I hate to admit it, but it was true. So I sat down and cried silently for a few minutes, and it got me nowhere. I wiped off my tears and I continued walking slowly.
I found a chopped off log, and I decided to kick it. Out came a giant lizard with spikes up its head down to its tail. The lizard had an ugly texture with a vomit color, and spots the color of blood. It started screeching at me, and jumping on my legs. It crawled up my leg with its sharp talons. It started scratching my arm and blood was starting to come out. I pushed it away, and stepped on its long tail. It was screeching nonstop, so I grabbed its tail, swung it, and threw it. When it hit the ground it yelped, so I thought it was dead, but it hissed and crawled away.
I had this feeling inside of me. It was pride . . . pride of hurting a lizard. I looked around, surprised at what I just did. I just felt proud for defending myself against an ugly lizard.
"Whatever." I shook my head, and continued walking, but a little faster. I looked back at the gears and words started flooding my head.
Time.
Experiments.
Time Travel.
Prehistoric.
I looked at the gears one more time, and started to remember.
