In the Park
By: Lynette Hernandez

I am walking in the park one day when a
woman comes up to me in tears and she says,
"Help help help me find my daughter." I tell her
I'll help her and she calms down. We walk along
the park looking for the little girl. I ask the mom
where she last saw the girl. The mom says she
saw the girl last in the playground. I tell her we
should split up and maybe it will be easier to find
her that way. After about one hour searching, I
hear a sound. It sounds like it's a little girl crying.
I follow the noise. I get closer and I look down.
It is a little girl sitting on the bench. She
look like she's starving. I put my hand in my
bag and take out a cookie and give it to her.
Then I bring her to her mom who looks
so excited and runs over to hug her. She looks
at me and says thank you with a smile
on her face. Then I walk away and go home.
